Takehiko Shimo began fine-art studies at the age of fourteen. After he had attended the Musashino University of Art, he continued his high skill studies at the Nihon University of Art and graduated with the highest marks.
Takehiko Shimo has benefited from the advice and support of renowned Japanese artists including Fukuo Kuwabara, Rentarou Fujii, Nagao Yamaguchi and Wasaburo Itozono. He has given individual exhibitions at leading galleries in Tokyo such as the Showa Gallery, the Muromachi Gallery, the Yamato Gallery and the Tsubaki Gallery. Since 2006, he has been a resident artist of the Gallery Concept 21.
Takehiko Shimo won many prizes such as Sannichi Price, Holbein Price, Japan Art Price and Sonzouten Price and nominated Showa Price and Yasui Price. Takehiko Shimo is a member of Souzouten.
